‘Lush and seamlessly well constructed, architectural pop perfection’ – Music Muso

“The Indie/folk market has new contenders” – Clash

“A touch of Wild Beasts, add some Belle & Sebastian – even the peerless Bon Iver – and you’ll have some idea of the falsetto-led dreaminess on offer” – Hooting & Howling

Matthew & Me’s music is inspired by love, friends, everyday life, moments of calm, turmoil, art, bad decisions made, good times had, gin, tea, beer, Berlin.

People are regularly surprised by Matthew & Me’s live show, never knowing quite what to expect. The five-piece band create huge waves of sound, unexpected chaos, haunting vocals, light and shade, with moments of stark contemplative hush.

They have hosted a number of gigs in spectacular, unusual venues ranging from boats, to chapels to underground caves.

Their latest recording effort, Golden Charms EP, is released in July 2014 on Blanket records. It is reflective of their live set and was recorded with friend and esteemed producer Bruno Ellingham, who encouraged the notion of capturing the band performing the tracks live, in full takes, together. The EP serves to document this particular moment in time. The EP was recorded between Rockfield Studios and The Distillery Studio.
